Responsibilities
As the Lead Contracts Administrator I, you will:
- Pre-Award Activities:
- Prepare bid invitations and manage the invitation process.
- Process inquiries from bidders and develop bid evaluation programs.
- Evaluate bids and lead contract negotiations, preparing contracts for award.
- Post-Award Activities:
- Conduct kick-off meetings and manage all contract-related correspondence.
- Prepare and process variation orders, claims, and contract closeouts.
- Contract Management:
- Draft Invitation to Tender packages for large oil and gas projects.
- Review client contract conditions and propose amendments as necessary.
- Collaborate with legal, risk management, tax, and accounting teams to ensure contract compliance.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to business provisions of contracts, advising the Projects Contracts Manager on scope, financial, and risk aspects.
- Maintain documentation for negotiating change orders and prepare client correspondence for approvals.
- Issue Resolution:
- Identify contractual problems and implement solutions, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Quality Management:
- Manage contract quality standards to ensure compliance with project expectations.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Arts.
- Chartered status (MRICS) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of Contractual Terms & Conditions and Commercial Contract Law.
- Proven experience in procurement and contract administration from bid preparation to contract closeout.
- Strong understanding of procedural requirements and the need for an audit trail for management purposes.
- Middle East/Arabian Gulf experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
