Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure that the USO Center is inviting, clean, and well-maintained for visitors.
- Manage equipment maintenance and adherence to sanitary guidelines and food-handling regulations.
- Program Management:
- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and events on and off military installations.
- Research and recommend new programs based on visitor needs and feedback.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and supervise USO Center staff and volunteers, overseeing recruitment, training, and recognition efforts.
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on achieving the USO’s mission.
- Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Create and manage operating budgets, ensuring all activities are within budget limits.
- Prepare and present financial and operational reports, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
- Community Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with U.S. Military personnel, local community leaders, and donors to enhance support for USO programs.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding operations and events.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPP).
- Conduct accountability checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in business operations, event management, or marketing, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural, or global organization preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with various software applications, including volunteer management tools and social media platforms.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
- Language:
- Fluency in English; proficiency in the local language preferred.
- Attributes:
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt to changing needs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
