Firefighter

Vectrus is seeking a dedicated Firefighter to join our team in Kuwait, supporting the LOGCAP program. This role is critical in responding to various emergencies, ensuring safety and compliance with health standards. As a Firefighter, you will work alongside a skilled team to maintain equipment, conduct fire inspections, and protect lives and property.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to multiple types of emergencies, including structural fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents.
  • Maintain and ensure all firefighting equipment is operational and ready for use in compliance with NFPA and other standards.
  • Participate in regular training sessions, including OJT, to maintain required certifications.
  • Conduct fire inspections and pre-incident planning, documenting all findings and actions.
  • Operate digital fire alarm systems and two-way radios for effective communication during emergencies.
  • Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Serve as a team member on various fire apparatus, including engines, rescue units, and airport ARFF vehicles.
  • Assist with administrative duties, such as scheduling maintenance and maintaining accountability of firefighting equipment.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with team members and management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of related experience; education may substitute for experience.
  • Preferred: One year of experience as a Firefighter on a DOD installation.

Certifications:

  • Firefighter I/II
  • HazMat Operations
  • First Aid Provider (FAP)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Airport Firefighter Certification
  • Other relevant certifications as per DoD Manual 6055.06

Skills:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with multinational staff.
  • Proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must meet NFPA 1582 physical requirements, capable of performing strenuous tasks in challenging conditions while wearing protective gear.
  • Available for recall and must manage personnel issues off duty.
