Responsibilities
- Exercise Instruction:
- Assist clients in performing exercises using a variety of gym equipment, ensuring proper form and technique to prevent injury.
- Provide customized workout plans based on individual fitness goals and health conditions.
- Instruct clients on general physical exercises and the best ways to maintain their fitness levels.
- Fitness & Wellness Guidance:
- Offer general nutrition advice to complement workout plans and promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Provide wellness and fitness tips to enhance overall physical well-being.
- Conduct personal training sessions based on clients’ specific fitness needs and goals.
- Gym Maintenance & Safety:
- Ensure all gym equipment is in good working condition and perform routine checks to prevent accidents.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the gym area to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
- Adhere to safety standards and respond to emergencies as needed, using first aid and CPR skills when necessary.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life.
- Participate in promoting gym programs and events within the university community.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Must have a valid coaching license or a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.
- Candidates with a 2-year vocational course in a related field are also welcome, provided they have relevant gym instruction experience.
- Certifications:
- First Aid and CPR Training and/or Certification is required.
- Experience:
- Ideally, 1-3 years of experience working in a gym, fitness center, or wellness environment.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of physical education, exercise techniques, and bodybuilding theories.
- Familiarity with preparing effective exercise programs tailored to individual clients’ fitness levels and health conditions.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, especially the muscular system.
- Competence in using both light and heavy gym equipment.
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and the ability to offer advice on proper diet and nutrition for fitness improvement.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able to perform exercises and demonstrate techniques.
- Willingness to conduct personal training sessions for clients.
