We are currently seeking applications for the position of English Preparatory Program Instructor to start in Fall 2024. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about teaching English to speakers of other languages and committed to student success.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Teaching Excellence: Develop and deliver high-quality English language courses tailored to the needs of non-native speakers.
- Material Preparation: Create and prepare teaching materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and class activities.
- Student Evaluation: Monitor and assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback to foster improvement.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor students in their academic journeys, helping them to achieve their language learning goals.
- Departmental Support: Actively participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, promoting the growth and success of the English Preparatory Program.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in language instruction.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Linguistics, English Literature, or a related field from an internationally accredited university.
- Certifications: CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent ESL teaching certification is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced environment.
