Responsibilities

  • Purchase spare parts and components for the plant from local suppliers, adhering to approved cost and quality standards.
  • Communicate any supply problems that may impact business operations.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive list of suppliers, including their products, costs, and brands.
  • Keep complete and updated purchasing records, data, and pricing in the system.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers to achieve cost savings for the company.
  • Ensure a professional and consistent approach in dealings with all suppliers.
  • Execute regular purchasing duties and manage related administrative tasks effectively.
  • Support relevant departments by providing quotations for tenders.
  • Schedule, prepare, and process purchase orders and related documentation according to company policies.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Address and resolve issues related to price, quality, delivery, or invoices with suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Valid Kuwaiti driving license.
  • Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • 8-10 years of previous experience with a solid understanding of local market suppliers.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • High level of ethics, integrity, and honesty in supplier dealings.
  • Proficient in MS Office and experienced with an ERP system.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Comfortable thriving in a collaborative work environment.
