Projects Controls Manager

As a Projects Controls Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that multiple projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This position requires a strong background in project control and engineering, with a focus on cost management, scheduling, and risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manpower planning: Ensure the right resources are allocated to meet project goals.
• Cost estimating and cost control engineering: Provide accurate cost estimates and control project budgets to ensure efficient project execution.
• Project Management Plan (PMP) preparation: Prepare detailed PMPs for each project phase.
• Client financial approvals documentation: Manage financial documentation and gain client approval on project budgets.
• Project scheduling and progress reporting: Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines.
• Change management: Identify potential risks and implement solutions to mitigate issues.
• Corporate and client reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports for both corporate stakeholders and clients.
• Document control system management: Oversee document management to ensure the integrity and accuracy of project records.
• Risk management reviews: Conduct periodic risk assessments to prevent disruptions and ensure project success.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Provide full project controls for assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management.
• Issue comprehensive Monthly Project Progress Reports with detailed status analysis.
• Ensure that projects adhere to approved PMPs concerning man-hours, cost, quality, and scope of work.
• Identify areas of concern and recommend corrective actions to maintain project alignment.
• Recruit and onboard project control personnel as needed.
• Implement and oversee project control systems, processes, and tools to maintain efficient project workflows.

Functional Management:

• Source, develop, and mentor project controls specialists.
• Maintain custodianship of project control systems, ensuring their proper use and continuous improvement.
• Audit and enhance project control activities on individual projects, ensuring best practices.
• Participate in business development by demonstrating project control capabilities to existing and potential clients.
• Lead key project executions, including proposal preparation and team coaching.

Qualifications and Attributes:

• A degree or diploma in engineering from an accredited institution is a contractual requirement.
• Proficiency with advanced engineering tools, data systems, and general office software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management and process engineering through all project phases, from FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) to Commissioning, especially within the Oil & Gas or related industries.
• Strong client management skills and the ability to engage with clients as needed.
