Braintrust is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our remote team, supporting operations across the EMEA region. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to build, maintain, and optimize infrastructure on the Azure cloud platform. You will play a key role in ensuring our cloud operations are reliable, scalable, and efficient. Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure for both backend and frontend applications.
  • Architecture & Platform Operations: Lead architecture improvements, focusing on Azure Kubernetes Services and other container/microservices architectures.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD Services and support deployment pipelines.
  • Requirements Analysis: Evaluate business needs, analyze requirements, and implement cloud-based solutions for data stores and cloud services.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure processes, site reliability, and deployments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to anticipate needs, uncover areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintenance of Procedures: Update and maintain procedures to ensure ongoing operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Expertise:
    • Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Services, Functions, Container Services.
    • CI/CD expertise using Azure DevOps and Pipelines.
    • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.
    • Knowledge of Cloud Data Stores like Azure SQL, Cosmos DB (NoSQL), and Redis Cache.
    • Experience with ETL processes, data migrations, and data deployment patterns.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience and industry certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Data Engineering, or as a DBA.
  • Knowledge of SQL, query tools, and data access patterns.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service tools like Azure Resource Manager and Terraform.
  • Programming experience with Python, C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Expertise in Load/Performance/Stress Testing best practices.
