Join Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu and a leader in the open-source community, as a Software Engineer focused on Python, Golang, and Kubernetes. In this role, you will be part of the Kubernetes product team, building operators and add-ons that ensure seamless integration and lifecycle management of critical Kubernetes components. This is a fully remote position available to candidates located in EMEA and the Americas.
Responsibilities:
- Write high-quality, efficient code to develop new features for Kubernetes operators and add-ons.
- Debug issues and collaborate with a vibrant open-source community to address challenges.
- Proactively collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team.
- Work closely with talented engineers and industry experts from diverse technical fields.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Kubernetes and open-source technologies to incorporate best practices into the product.
- Occasionally travel (2 to 4 weeks per year) to attend internal and external company events.
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in Golang and fluency in Python programming languages.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and familiarity with its ecosystem and operators.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- A passion for open-source software, Linux, and cloud technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
