As a Surveyor at Amentum, you will perform essential surveying tasks, including topographical, boundary, and benchmark surveys, as well as providing CAD and GIS support. You will be part of a team that is committed to excellence and delivering high-quality services in compliance with client specifications and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

As a Surveyor, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing work control lines and elevations for accurate installation of materials (e.g., concrete forms, anchor bolts, piping hangers).
  • Maintaining constant awareness of the safety implications of design and construction, providing surveillance and reporting safety violations as per project procedures.
  • Offering technical surveying guidance and support for CAD, GIS, and other surveying technical services for specific construction projects.
  • Maintaining the Base Real Property Inventory records to ensure up-to-date documentation.
  • Managing and adjusting surveying equipment to maintain functionality and accuracy.
  • Translating hand-drawn plans from engineers into presentable and accurate AutoCAD drawings for conceptual, draft, and final plans.
  • Developing detailed maps and relational databases for project updates, including topography, transportation features, and environmental elements.
  • Supporting engineering and architectural disciplines with detailed drawing support for design projects.
  • Reviewing digital survey information, field notes, and sketches to create comprehensive plans.
  • Liaising with external surveying offices to obtain topographical information for site preparation, drainage, and vertical structures.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor License from any United States State Survey Board of Licensure.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying and mapping, with knowledge of differential leveling, Engineering Data Management, and GPS equipment (preferably Trimble equipment).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012, ESRI ArcMap/Arc Editor, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to create or update space usage information contained in S-Files.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (degree preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
