Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Engineering

The Department of Computer Engineering, housed within the College of Engineering and Technology (CoET), offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program and is looking for motivated Assistant/Associate Professors to join the faculty in Fall 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of the university’s Computer Engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in Computer Engineering. Prepare teaching materials and develop course content in line with AUM’s academic standards.
• Research: Engage in significant research activities, focusing on publishing in refereed journals and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in Computer Engineering.
• Student Support: Mentor, advise, and evaluate students’ academic progress. Supervise students in research projects and guide them in developing their technical skills.
• Course Development: Design and deliver engaging courses, assessments, quizzes, and exams. Ensure continuous improvement of teaching methods and course content.
• Departmental Contribution: Actively participate in departmental meetings, serve on academic committees, and support the department’s strategic activities and goals.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and teaching assistants to ensure the smooth operation of labs and classroom activities.
• University Growth: Participate in promoting AUM’s mission and values through events, conferences, and other activities. Support departmental and university-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Engineering or a related field from an internationally accredited university.
• Experience:
  • Strong academic track record with excellent publication history, particularly in the last five years.
  • Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with a commitment to teaching excellence.
• Skills:
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Industry experience in Computer Engineering is a plus.

Areas of Expertise

Applicants should demonstrate expertise and teaching experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Artificial Intelligence and its sub-areas.
• Data Structures and Object-Oriented Programming.
• Computer Architecture and Design.
• Systems Analysis and Design.
• Other research areas related to Computer Engineering.
