Job Purpose
To manage and oversee the finance and accounts departments, ensuring effective financial reporting and compliance while contributing to the organization’s strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Liquidity Management: Oversee the group’s liquidity and cash needs, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
- Accounting Oversight: Manage all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with legal standards and timely preparation of financial reports.
- Real Estate Management: Supervise legal structuring and due diligence for real estate acquisitions, including financing negotiations.
- Foreign Investments: Oversee accounting operations for foreign investment vehicles, including transaction processing and control systems.
- Banking Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with banks, investment analysts, and financial institutions.
- Insurance Strategy: Develop strategies to optimize insurance coverage for the organization’s assets and liabilities.
- Financial Evaluation: Assess business activities and transactions to ensure financial viability, including acquisitions and capital expenditures.
- Budget Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, and periodic financial statements, ensuring accurate management reporting.
- Audit Coordination: Manage the finalization of consolidated financials in line with GAAP, oversee statutory audits, and coordinate with auditors for year-end procedures.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for projects, including the development of annual business plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure tax and regulatory compliance for local and international entities.
- Communication: Provide timely updates to the Owners/BOD on key financial information.
- Policy Development: Create and apply policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and fiscal controls within the finance department.
People Management:
- Team Leadership: Monitor junior staff performance and contribute to their professional development.
- Motivation: Set Key Performance Indicators and foster a motivated team environment.
- Risk Assessment: Participate in business development opportunities to evaluate financial soundness and risk management.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance with relevant professional certification (CA/CPA/CFA/ACCA preferred).
Behavioral Competencies:
- High reliability and a solid professional reputation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong time management skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and a curious mindset.
Language Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
Years of Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably with a reputable organization.
Nature of Experience:
- Experience in Kuwait or GCC real estate and treasury operations is advantageous.
