Weatherford is looking for a skilled Professional Service Engineer with expertise in Production Optimization and SCADA systems. This role is key to deploying software solutions tailored to Oil and Gas industry clients, ensuring smooth installation, configuration, and optimization of SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in software deployment, troubleshooting, and customer support, as well as experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and configure SCADA and Production Optimization Systems for Oil and Gas customers.
- Develop custom screens, workflows, and reports to enhance operational efficiency and integrate with SCADA hardware.
- Interact directly with customers to understand and resolve product issues, offering top-tier support.
- Provide support for third-party application rollouts based on business needs.
- Assist internal and external clients in consulting projects utilizing the company’s optimization software.
- Help field support and clients with upgrading and configuring software, ensuring smooth operations.
- Develop custom solutions using scripts for process optimization and integration.
- Act as team leader in the absence of the Team Lead, offering guidance to junior team members.
- Train users on system functionality, usage, and administration to ensure full proficiency.
- Engage in software testing during release cycles to validate features as an end-user.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to SCADA hardware, software, and radio communications.
- Identify and report bugs or debugging issues to the development team as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related fields.
- 2–5+ years of experience in software deployment and SCADA systems support, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA software and hardware, including protocols such as MODBUS, OPC, and experience with RTUs, PLCs, and communication troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft environment, including .Net, C#, SQL, Oracle, HTML5, PowerShell, TypeScript, IIS, and Angular.
- SQL Server Management experience and knowledge of Windows OS administration and support.
- Familiarity with ETL techniques, tools, and application integration.
- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting hardware/software issues, with exposure to open-source analytics, RESTful APIs, and web applications.
- Prior experience with CygNet, LOWIS, ForeSite, or similar software is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license required for travel assignments.
