The Exchange is seeking a highly experienced General Manager to oversee a group of store managers within a geographic region. This key role ensures the smooth execution of retail, food, and services operations, aligning with goals set by regional leadership. As a General Manager, you will lead teams, manage business planning activities, and work closely with military command to support the organization’s objectives.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of retail, food, and services within the Exchange to ensure efficiency and the achievement of business goals.
- Perform financial analysis, budgeting, and business planning, taking corrective actions where necessary.
- Monitor staff performance to ensure the team meets established targets, providing coaching and development opportunities for managers and associates.
Military Engagement
- Engage with military command elements by participating in town hall, weekly, and staff meetings to align operational goals.
- Manage relationships and collaborate with departments such as human resources, loss prevention, and protocol to ensure smooth program execution.
People Development
- Develop, train, and mentor managers and associates, preparing them for future leadership roles within the organization.
- Foster a culture of growth, encouraging continuous learning and development among team members.
Additional Responsibilities
- Intervene in situations requiring corrective actions or performance improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support regional leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Eight years of progressive retail/food/services management experience, with at least one year as a Main Store Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales & Merchandise Manager, Exchange Retail Business Manager, Exchange Business Manager, or a similar role within the past five years.
- Or
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Marketing with six years of progressive experience in retail/food/services management, including at least one year in a senior management role within the past five years.
- Educational Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Marketing preferred.
Work Challenges
- The position requires a minimum one-year deployment to a contingency location, where working and living conditions may be considered adverse.
- Candidates must be able to pass military medical physicals and obtain a U.S. passport.
- Must possess the ability to adapt to challenging environments and demonstrate leadership in high-pressure situations.
Salary
- Minimum Salary: $97,379.00 annually
