Responsibilities

Demi Chef (Hot & Cold Section):
Cold Section Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of cold mezze, including hummus, tabbouleh, fattoush, baba ghanoush, and labneh.
  • Ensure the freshness of ingredients, focusing on high-quality vegetables, herbs, and sauces.
  • Plate and present cold appetizers with a keen eye for traditional style and taste.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in food storage and preparation areas.

Hot Section Responsibilities:

  • Cook hot mezze and main dishes such as grilled kebabs, shawarma, falafel, kibbeh, and manakeesh.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality across dishes.
  • Assist in grilling, roasting, and sautéing, adhering to traditional cooking methods and recipes.
  • Support meal plating and ensure proper presentation of hot dishes.

Commis 1 Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation by cleaning, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
  • Prepare ingredients for both hot and cold dishes, ensuring freshness and accuracy in portioning.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene by cleaning workstations, tools, and equipment after use.
  • Ensure proper storage of ingredients, particularly fresh herbs, meats, and vegetables, to preserve their quality.
  • Follow food safety standards to prevent contamination and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Demi Chef or Commis 1 in a restaurant specializing in Lebanese, Palestinian, or Arabic cuisine.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and culinary methods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
  • Passion for cooking and creativity in food presentation.
