The Department of Computer Engineering offers a unique ABET-accredited undergraduate program and is currently recruiting full-time faculty members as Laboratory Instructors for the upcoming Fall Semester 2024.
Job Requirements
- Education: A Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally accredited university.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, and/or Java.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written English skills, as it is the language of instruction and communication on campus.
- Experience:
- Excellent publication records are a plus.
- Academic or industry experience is a plus.
- Participation in Artificial Intelligence projects or competitions is a plus.
Job Description
Faculty members are engaged in teaching, service, research, and professional development tasks. Successful candidates are expected to:
- Prepare lab manuals and syllabi.
- Design and test experiments.
- Deliver laboratory sessions, including pre-laboratory presentations.
- Supervise and assist students with lab-related courses.
- Assess students’ performance using established assessment tools (quizzes, presentations, lab reports, exams).
- Enhance teaching effectiveness through appropriate strategies.
- Maintain records of student attendance.
- Compile laboratory course portfolios by the end of each semester.
- Document information by maintaining logs and equipment records.
- Order necessary equipment and specimens.
- Ensure compliance with the university’s safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in labs.
- Assist in proctoring exams.
- Support faculty in research within the same specialized area.
- Contribute to professional development activities.
- Support college and departmental activities with leadership, commitment, accountability, and collegiality.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Department.
