Weatherford is seeking a dedicated Professional Service Engineer to join our team. This role is vital for deploying software solutions that optimize production processes for our Oil and Gas customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Deployment:
Install, upgrade, and configure SCADA and Production Optimization Systems. - Custom Solutions Development:
Build screens, workflows, and reports to support customer operations, and provide custom solutions through scripts. - Customer Interaction:
Engage with customers to understand and troubleshoot product issues, ensuring effective solutions. - Technical Support:
Provide support for third-party application rollouts based on business needs and assist clients with software upgrades and configurations. - Team Leadership:
Guide junior members of the deployment team in problem-solving and provide team leadership in the absence of the Team Lead. - User Training:
Train users in system usage and administration to ensure effective utilization of the software. - System Integration:
Develop utilities and perform system integration using scripts, while documenting procedures and relevant reports. - Troubleshooting:
Debug programs/scripts to identify and resolve issues, and collaborate with developers for unresolved problems. - Software Testing Participation:
Take part in software testing during the release cycle, acting as an end customer. - Additional Duties:
Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the job’s physical constraints.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related fields. - Experience:
2-5+ years of experience in a similar role, particularly in deploying and debugging enterprise software in a Microsoft environment. - Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of debugging and programming in .Net, C#, SQL, Oracle, HTML5, PowerShell, TypeScript, IIS, and Angular.
- Familiarity with SCADA software and hardware, including experience with protocols such as MODBUS and OPC.
- Knowledge of RTUs, PLCs, and communication configuration/troubleshooting.
- Analytical Skills:
Experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), and familiarity with RESTful APIs and web applications. - Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to plan and organize tasks effectively. - Work Environment Adaptability:
Ability to work with minimum supervision and handle domestic and foreign travel as required. - Additional Knowledge:
Understanding of Windows OS administration, web security, authentication, and authorization. - Driver’s License:
Valid driver’s license is required.
