The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join our Publications and Design Section. This remote position is an exciting opportunity for freelance graphic designers who want to contribute to high-quality designs that reflect the WIPO brand. You will be part of a team that creates impactful visual content for a range of projects over a framework contract lasting up to five years, from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2029.
Responsibilities
As a Graphic Designer, your main duties will include:
- Artwork Creation: Design layouts for various digital and print materials, including flyers, banners, newsletters, social media posts, and website visuals. Ensure all designs align with WIPO’s visual identity guidelines.
- Multilingual Adaptation: Modify materials in multiple languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian, as required.
- Animation and Video Production: Create short animations and videos using the latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) software.
- Collaboration: Work under the supervision of the lead in-house Graphic Designer, while collaborating with the internal design team to ensure that all work meets quality standards.
- Communication: Participate in regular online meetings via MS Teams to discuss briefs, feedback, and project planning.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Professional Training: A degree or accredited training in graphic design.
- Experience: At least five years of progressive experience in graphic and artwork design.
- Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.
- High-Quality Design Record: Proven ability to create compelling designs for social media, web, and promotional materials, including trade fair stands and exhibitions.
- Proficiency in Adobe CC: Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Multilingual Design Experience: Experience working with texts in non-Latin languages, particularly Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
- Corporate Identity Application: Experience in applying corporate identities and creating infographics.
- Accessibility and UI Knowledge: Understanding of accessibility best practices and user interface (UI) design principles.
- Fluent English: Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with XML-based publishing tools is an advantage.
