Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, standards, and guidelines on construction sites.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, regular safety inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend effective control measures.
- Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and near misses, analyzing their root causes and developing preventive actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Deliver safety induction and ongoing HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and visitors to equip them with the knowledge and skills to work safely.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure all personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities during emergencies.
- Maintain meticulous records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and safety committee meetings.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel on-site.
- Actively participate in HSE committee meetings, providing valuable insights and updates on safety performance.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental management practices, including waste disposal and pollution control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a closely related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as an HSE Officer in the construction industry.
- Possess relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH) or demonstrate a willingness to obtain them.
- In-depth knowledge of Kuwaiti HSE regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
