Canonical is looking for a Regional Director of Enterprise Open Source Sales to join our global team. Canonical is a leader in open-source software and the company behind Ubuntu, a widely-used platform that powers AI, cloud, and IoT innovations. As a Regional Director, you will be responsible for driving sales of Canonical’s enterprise solutions, including Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud services, across your assigned region. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the strategy for your sales team, identifying new opportunities, and guiding your team to meet or exceed sales targets. You will oversee a team of five to ten sales representatives, helping them develop their skills and relationships with both current and potential clients.
Responsibilities
As the Regional Director of Enterprise Open Source Sales, you will:
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan, including outreach and prospecting activities.
- Assign and allocate portions of the territory and accounts to your team of sales representatives.
- Identify and prioritize potential new clients for account-based marketing and prospecting efforts.
- Ensure that your team creates high-quality account plans for both new and existing accounts.
- Support the development of new pipeline opportunities through outreach, local marketing, and industry events.
- Monitor and report on your team’s pipeline, ensuring data accuracy in Salesforce.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to your team, helping them meet and exceed their sales targets.
- Collaborate with customer success teams to identify growth opportunities and further customer engagement.
- Represent Canonical at conferences, industry events, and client meetings, showcasing our solutions and products.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Business.
- Proven leadership and management experience, ideally in the enterprise software or technology sales sector.
- Experience with open source technologies and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- A track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and securing new accounts.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with a focus on accurate reporting and territory management.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English, and knowledge of any additional languages relevant to your region.
- Self-motivation, discipline, and the ability to manage a distributed team.
- Willingness to travel within your region and internationally for conferences and company events.
