Responsibilities

As a Hostess, your key responsibilities will include:

Guest Services:

  • Maintain a consistently high level of guest service, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Approach and interact with guests confidently, providing information about the menu and specials.

Menu Knowledge and Upselling:

  • Possess extensive knowledge of all menus and effectively upsell items at every opportunity.
  • Engage in continuous learning regarding customer service, menu changes, specials, and pricing.

Operational Tasks:

  • Fluent operation of the MICROS POS system for efficient order processing.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean and functional at all times, adhering to detailed cleaning procedures.
  • Assist in setting up, serving, and breaking down functions as per established procedures.

Team Coordination:

  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to facilitate timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Participate in formal training activities to enhance service skills.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

  • Monitor multiple tables with flexibility and ease, adapting to various service demands.
  • Be willing to work split shifts and assist in manning other outlets as directed by the Outlet In-Charge.

Guest Interaction:

  • Maintain a professional demeanor while engaging with internal and external guests.
  • Create a positive atmosphere by smiling, making eye contact, and using guests’ names whenever possible.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Hostess position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills with a focus on guest service excellence.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
    • Problem-solving skills and composure under pressure.
    • Knowledge of hotel service standards and practices.
  • Attributes:
    • Presentable and well-groomed at all times.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
    • Sales and upselling skills to enhance guest experiences.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is an advantage, but not mandatory.
