The American University of the Middle East (AUM), a prestigious private university established in 2005 in Kuwait, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in its Architectural Engineering Department. This full-time role will commence in the Fall 2024 Semester. Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching Excellence: Deliver high-quality instruction at the undergraduate level and provide student advising.
  • Research Engagement: Conduct and publish research findings in refereed journals, contributing significantly to the advancement of research activities.
  • Course Development: Prepare teaching materials, develop and deliver engaging course content, and design assessments and quizzes.
  • Student Mentorship: Evaluate and monitor student academic progress and supervise research projects, guiding students in their academic journeys.
  • Active Participation: Engage in departmental meetings, college-wide activities, and contribute to the growth and strategic initiatives of AUM.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: PhD in Architectural Engineering or a related field from an internationally accredited institution.
  • Publication Record: Proven track record of academic publications, particularly within the last five years.
  • Teaching and Research Skills: Commitment to teaching excellence, student advising, and demonstrable research capabilities in relevant fields.
  • Diverse Environment: Ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced environment with strong oral and written English skills.
  • Industry Experience: Previous industry experience in architectural engineering is a plus.
