Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight:
    • Ensure that the USO Center is inviting, clean, and well-maintained for visitors.
    • Manage equipment maintenance and adherence to sanitary guidelines and food-handling regulations.
  • Program Management:
    • Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and events on and off military installations.
    • Research and recommend new programs based on visitor needs and feedback.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Mentor and supervise USO Center staff and volunteers, overseeing recruitment, training, and recognition efforts.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on achieving the USO’s mission.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management:
    • Create and manage operating budgets, ensuring all activities are within budget limits.
    • Prepare and present financial and operational reports, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with U.S. Military personnel, local community leaders, and donors to enhance support for USO programs.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding operations and events.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPP).
    • Conduct accountability checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in business operations, event management, or marketing, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
    • Experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural, or global organization preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with various software applications, including volunteer management tools and social media platforms.
    • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Language:
    • Fluency in English; proficiency in the local language preferred.
  • Attributes:
    • Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt to changing needs.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
