Desk Operations Coordinator

This position, located in Kuwait and part of the LOGCAP program, is responsible for performing a variety of desk operations tasks within the PMO. The role involves coordinating responses to accidents and incidents, handling emergency notifications, and managing data through the Computer-Aided Dispatch System (CAD). It includes working closely with military police and monitoring systems such as IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television Systems).


Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recording incidents and offenses within a 24-hour period using the CAD system and other applicable DA/FM forms as per Army regulations (AR 190-40, AR 190-45).
  • Dispatching responses to accidents or incidents and providing emergency notifications according to the US Government and Emergency Services Division (ESD) notification matrix.
  • Monitoring communication channels and dispatching law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Handling emergency and non-emergency calls via various platforms (landline, VoIP, WhatsApp, cell phone), documenting calls in the CAD system.
  • Safeguarding evidence and ensuring proper submission of Military Police Reports (MPRs) in accordance with AR 190-45.
  • Monitoring and responding to activations from fire alarm systems, IDS, and CCTV, coordinating patrol, fire, or EMS responses.
  • Operating Army Law Enforcement Reporting and Tracking System (ALERTS) and Emergency Reporting System (ERS).
  • Managing lost and found property, ensuring proper documentation and return or disposal of unclaimed items.
  • Completing official police reports and providing accurate records of investigations.
  • Cross-training as an Emergency Services Dispatcher.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • US Citizen, at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid US Passport and Driver’s License.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute or more preferred.
  • 1 year of specialized experience in dispatching emergency or non-emergency services, operating telecommunication systems, or similar responsibilities preferred.
  • Familiarity with Hazmat Awareness, Telecommunicator I/II, and EMD certifications preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, military environment.
  • Capable of handling sensitive data with discretion and confidentiality.

Working Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted indoors, though there may be mild exposure to extreme climatic conditions and potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required in certain areas, including head, foot, hand, torso, vision, and hearing protection.
  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Safety regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • May involve lifting, climbing, extended sitting, and standing.
  • Strong visual acuity and hearing required.
  • Comfortable with performing tasks that require manual dexterity and attention to detail.
