Job Purpose

The HR Business Advisor will act as a direct point of contact for employees within assigned departments, providing support throughout various HR processes. The role involves understanding departmental dynamics, monitoring HR metrics, and contributing to the university’s overall success through effective HR management.

Responsibilities

The HR Business Advisor will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Attendance Management:
    • Track and monitor attendance records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
  • Leave Management:
    • Oversee and manage leave requests, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations.
  • Termination and Resignation Management:
    • Lead termination meetings and handle resignation cases professionally, adhering to university requirements.
  • Recruitment:
    • Actively participate in recruiting efforts, sourcing and attracting top talent to meet the recruitment needs of assigned departments.
  • HR Strategy Alignment:
    • Collaborate with the HR team to align HR strategies with departmental goals and contribute to the overall success of the university.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding:
    • Take the lead in the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires and departing employees.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with departmental and divisional leaders, serving as a liaison between them and the HR department.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on business partnering or advisory capacities.
    • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR policy implementation.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate HR-related challenges.
    • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
