Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System Implementation: Lead the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Quality Plan Development: Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan and Policy to meet and exceed contractual obligations and Smiths Detection’s business processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and improve project quality management systems, proactively updating quality plans to uphold the highest standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the Heads of Program/Project Director to provide guidance on quality-related issues and coordinate quality assurance activities.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct periodic internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS, ensuring adherence to project specifications, ISO 9001:2015 standards, and management directives.
  • Reporting: Submit monthly Project Quality Reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with project and contract requirements.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement a Project Quality Training Plan to ensure personnel are trained on quality objectives and policies.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Review and approve subcontractor Quality Control Plans and conduct audits to assess their performance and compliance.
  • Quality Documentation: Create required documentation for all testing requirements, including Work Inspection Reports (WIR) and Material Inspection Reports (MIR).
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify opportunities for improvement within the management system to enhance quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field; higher degrees preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality management, particularly in international projects related to Electrical/Mechanical or Oil & Gas industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of airport construction projects and familiarity with X-ray systems, Checkpoint Systems, and Baggage Handling Systems is a plus.
  • Certifications: Additional training or certifications in quality assurance and management (e.g., Quality Manager, Quality Officer) preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills in English.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe FrameMaker is an advantage.
  • ISO Standards Knowledge: Understanding of ISO 9001 implementation and decision-making abilities in complex regional markets.
  • Team Player: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while working effectively under pressure and maintaining strong organizational skills.
