We are seeking a Rod Person (Instrument Surveyor) to assist in conducting field surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.


Job Purpose

The Rod Person will perform essential survey assistant duties to support land surveyors, conducting field measurements and assisting with data collection and analysis. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of surveying projects in alignment with Worley’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Field Survey Support:
    • Assist surveyors in field surveys, recording measurements, and drafting survey notes and detailed drawings.
    • Conduct on-field surveys and analyze calculations according to plot features.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Transport, assemble, maintain, and operate survey equipment.
    • Collect and label samples as required.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Record measurements using both manual and electronic equipment.
    • Perform calculations to determine areas of land using various methods, including GPS.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain logs, reports, and records in relevant databases, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
    • Prepare legal descriptions of land parcels, including dimensions and boundary coordinates.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with other surveyors during field survey activities and assist with determining land boundaries.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Certification in Surveying or a High School diploma (essential contractual requirement).
  • Experience:
    • Work experience within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry is required.
    • Experience in a related designation within a GCC country is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in land surveying techniques and equipment operation.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations.
