Vectrus is seeking a Supply Technical Inspector to support the LOGCAP program in Kuwait. This role involves ensuring that supply materials received at the Retrograde meet serviceability standards through detailed inspection and classification. As a key part of the supply operations team, the Supply Technical Inspector will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the supply chain. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in supply operations, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in challenging environmental conditions.
Responsibilities
As a Supply Technical Inspector, your duties will include:
- Conducting inspections on multi-class supply materials received at the Retrograde.
- Identifying and classifying the serviceability of parts and components, labeling them as serviceable, unserviceable-repairable, or unserviceable-non-repairable.
- Completing and affixing appropriate forms and tags for disposition, including comments and stamps for evaluation.
- Assisting in daily supply management operations such as inventory, storage, cataloging, and property utilization.
- Applying knowledge of supply systems, policies, and manuals to perform analytical tasks and take appropriate supply actions.
- Supervising and planning supply technical inspections to ensure compliance with technical manuals and written directives.
- Managing the classification of parts by examining for damage or excessive wear.
- Suggesting and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensuring physical security of sensitive and pilferable materials in accordance with Army regulations and local policies.
- Safeguarding all Army property and equipment.
- Operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and industrial trucks.
- Preparing daily reports and documentation, including CDRLs (Contract Data Requirements List) as per contract requirements.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a year of related experience can substitute for a year of education.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in supply operations.
- Strong knowledge of supply systems like GCSS-Army, FEDLOG, and other research tools.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Thorough understanding of Army Regulations (ARs) and Technical Manuals (TMs) related to supply activities.
- Familiar with the repair parts system and troubleshooting issues in supply logistics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Soft Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
- This role involves working in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit in a desert environment.
- The work may take place indoors and outdoors in environments with adverse conditions, including dust, heat, and industrial production environments.
- Requires physical stamina for heavy lifting, climbing, prolonged standing, and handling hazardous materials.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as head, foot, respiratory, and hearing protection will be required in certain situations.
